Stichting Katooke was founded on July 31, 2023, with a deep commitment to improving the accessibility and quality of education in developing countries. Dick's journey began in 2016 when he started engaging in several small-scale projects in Uganda. Later, Evert joined to support and contribute ideas.

Dick van Dijk: "During this time, we have had the privilege of experiencing how our efforts have garnered increasing sympathy and support from all corners of the world. The generosity of people worldwide has inspired us and enabled us to continue our mission. To ensure the sustainability and continuity of our efforts, we decided to consolidate our activities in the form of a foundation." Both Evert and Dick have had careers in international business and have had the opportunity to explore much of the world. Africa, with its unique allure and charm, has a special place in their hearts. 

In August 2023 , Lex Schellevis and Esther Nederlof visited Little Wood Junior School and were inspired by the enthusiasm of school director Edward. They wanted to contribute to the work of Stichting Katooke and therefore joined the board.

VOLUNTEERS

The foundation's board consists of Evert, Dick, Megan, Lex, and Esther. They volunteer for this work and receive no compensation.
